As for Clippy, his bullshit is not cute or funny anymore.
It never was, but it has gotten way beyond being old.
One of my first posts here was a comment about the way
he was posting, something along the lines of,
"Why is he allowed to post here like that?"
And then people started making excuses for his behavior.
I thought he must be some immature, infantile, juvenile,
prepubescent child with temper tantrum issues, if not
emotional and/or mental issues.
Unfortunately, it's actually much worse than that.
It will be a good day when people finally tire enough of
his extreme asininity and start demanding that he either
be censured or banned.
What we need is an Occupy QB64 Movement where we 99%
decide we're not going to put up with Ted's 1% status.
I'm going to step up here and say something, because this has gone too far and gotten out of hand.
I do not, in any way, support all of the things Clippy says or does. There have even been a few occasions where he has lashed out at me, and I have had to defend myself. But here is the thing: I am an adult. I do not presume that everyone else here is, though by some of the things that are said, I am going to assume that MOST of us ARE in fact, adults.
Whether we like it or not, we should be acting like it. Sure -- it's easy to say "f*ck you!" or "go to hell!", but what we should be doing is actually coming to a solution... peacefully.
We ARE a community, dammit! To the best of my knowledge, there are no other QB64 forums or sites out there! We are IT! How would something like this look to an outsider? What would even make them want to come in and make a post, if they see assinine bullshit like this going on?
I'm not taking sides on this. All I'm saying is that it needs to stop. Let's do something important. Like write a friggin' program.
And that's all I have to say about that.
