Why would you turn off signatures? They are seldom used for anything but downloads here.

I normally have them off on forums, because of what some of them say.

Or (in the case of some forums) how much you have to scroll just to pass a person's sig because it's a flashback to the 1990s where animated GIFs ruled and it takes up most of the page.  Thank goodness for browser caching!  Reloading all of those images every time would be a B****!

No it lags behind but it's only about one topic, where as that has a miriad of programs in it, you try and find something you were looking for through that pile!

Hi folks,

Just a small update on development...

In making my latest game i use a LOT of rotated sprites so i figured it was time i updated GDK rather than make an entirely new one, this saves time and ensures all old gdk programs will still run, all be it faster!

Thanks to Galleons MAPTRIANGLE rotozoomer rotations are a lot faster now and the game no longer lags when i have lots of sprites on screen. I have also added my GDK sprites section as the SpriteX type which is much more flexible than the old sprite method.

I've still got a few things i wanted to implement and check before i realease it but it's starting to get there!

congrats unseenmachine. i left a helpful link for ya concerning sprite sheets. it is considerably faster than the iterative version for large sprite sheets with tons of sprites. use freely and often. ;D

Can your sprites help me?

I asked Harvey (my Granmdson, age 11)
"What would you like the computer to do" and he said
"A Jigsaw"

This seems very intelligent, for it starts VERY simple and gets soon very interesting:-
!. Draw two pieces on the screen
2. Move them
3. Orient and flip them
4. Use YOUR BRAIN to see if they DO fit
5. WHY cannot the computer do this!
6. What help (instructions) does it need from you to know where and how it could start teaching itself how to learn how to do it.

MrWhy, sorry for the delay in reply, I have given it some thought (whilst dozing off to sleep) and i see no reason why GDK could not be used to make a jigsaw game. When i get some more time i'll try and make a simple demo for you and harvey.

- GDK Update - Tile Engine

- Added  GDK_Tileset_SetScale so tilesheets can be scaled in the same way as sprites.
- Swapped _width(0)/_height(0) checks to _width(_dest)/_Height(_dest) so tiles can be drawn on any sized surface irrelevant of current screen size.

Thats all folks!

In my scrolling engine I get tearing during scrolling. Now, not sure how GDK work. Is all the graphics pasted onto a buffer and then this buffer onto screen? Is this a problem of QB64 and its SDL video output?
