When you have your OWN folder in the samples section of qb64, i think you're free to sit and eat as much pizza as you want!!

At least I'm contributing and not just sitting behind my screen eating doughnuts and making stupid remarks.

Where is it? Surely you cant mean the link you posted!!! We can't even do it. It's a nice idea, but it's a pipe dream! Until Galleon does it! Whats wrong with C++ anyway? Just use that if you want dll's, or power basic.

Yeh and clippy, i am gonna drop some logis on ya...

If unseen - youngman and unseensage% < clippysage% then unseen = Younger than clippy!!! ergo clippy = oldman!!!

Job opening... Phone Answering Facilitator

Job Description: Must be able to facilitate others to answer a ringing phone, instead of answering the phone himself, like any freakin' normal person on the face of the earth would do.

Pete  ;D

List your favorite "facilitator" jobs after this post...

I thought we had some seasoned programmers on this forum. Steve (BxBasic interpreter author) didn't have any problems adding the DynaCall code to his C based Basic interpreter. It's a couple hour project at best.

This is an open source project, correct? Is Galleon the only person working on QB64?

TELL HIM CodeGuru!

I'm in a goooooooood moooooooood today! I don't ABUSE, I just tell it like I see it. AND YOU are a slouch that tries to manipulate, coerce or insult people to get something done because you APPARENTLY CANNOT DO IT YOURSELF!

Now, IF you want us to HELP YOU, then GET SOMEBODY HERE that KNOWS how to USE YOUR  "DynaCall code". Or do you EXPECT US to learn how to convert it while you twiddle your thumbs? What do we need to use your wonderful code?

IE: PUT YOUR MONEY WHERE YOUR BIG MOUTH WAS!

Can someone help?

I was just about to take a vitamin
And then I dropped it on the floor
I need a bend over and take it facilitator
Or I can't take it anymore.

Pete  ;D

-------------------------------

Anyway, that's probably the last bit from me on this matter. My contention is that we all have ideas, but for a project like this one, they need to produce results. For instance, Zom-b is very critical, but he produces exceptional results. If he just came here to criticize QB64, that would not have been taken well.

If Galleon really does open source this project, I would be glad to see other C/C++ programmers, of his caliber, contribute in a way that structurally builds this project in some formal organized manner. That's right Clippy, I do believe Free Enterprise and Government can work together, but I digress...

So if Galleon wants DLL's anytime soon, and JRS can really bring someone to the table to code that feature, I'd be happy to issue an apology for all of this kidding around I've been doing in this thread; but then if I had a nickel for every time I bumped into an "idea" person, who had some grand vision that of course he couldn't create or facilitate, I'd have one really big-ass nickel. (I've discovered melting the damn things down stops them from rattling in my pocket, but that's another story.)

Now if you will excuse me, a bunck of donut sprinkles just fell on my pizza... Hey, yum, not bad!

that is like asking who needs Basic when you can have Prolog
there are specific uses to both dll's and libraries
dll's improve the speed and efficiency of programs written to utilize that speed boost
while libraries are generally designed to make the job of programming easier on the user.

EDIT: for those who do not know Prolog is a so called fifth generation programming language written in the 1970's yet it is still third and fourth generation languages are the dominant force still
