Bugs/Incompatibilities / Re: Mysterious compiling bug

Yes, indeed it seems to be working on others computers, which leads me to think that it is my QB64 SDL version that is corrupt in some way. I will download a fresh version and see if that solves it. If it does then it isn't a bug/incompatibility as it's not something that comes with the package.

I compiled code it and ran in Dav's IDE with no problems.

3-D comes at a price...  ;) That's why we should keep the SDL version and update it.

Yep, I just bought Windows 7, but I still rarely use it. I have 3 XP computers so I can run Qbasic.

Don't hurry, be happy!  ;D

MS admitted publicly they botched Win8. Typical Karma for MS. Why anyone buys a new release OS from them is lost on me. Unless your computer blows up and you can't get a new one with an older OS on it, that is. So 8.1 will be more of a patch, than a new system. I'd still skip it, until reports come in that they have finally reached a stable version.

Yes. There is just one DLL file that will need downloaded for Windows. It has been about 6 years though since I last downloaded it. By chance I may still have a copy of an older version that I can link here but it is unlikely since the drive that had it has long since been dead. Always a small chance I can find it on my server but not likely.

ran correctly -- got a symmetrically rendered circle.

I am working on one that uses only cosine, therefore it will only require one trig calc. this is starting to make my head spin, but I will endure. ;D if ya hear a BIG explosion from Joliet, it's just my mind having imploded ;D.

Here's the file, it doesn't compile for me. It's very strange that you got it to compile using my editor. When I pasted the code here on the forums into my editor and tried to compile it just sits forever.

I just realised that the reason it worked with Dav's editor is that I had set the QB64 compiler to the GL version. So it still doesn't work with Dav's editor either (which means that there's probably nothing wrong with the way we parse it, you may want to examine it anyway to rule out the possibility).

Since it does work on your computer then I guess that there is something wrong with the QB64 SDL version that I have (it must be corrupted in some way). Every other piece of code that I have made runs fine though and has for a couple of years.
