results from small maze generator side project
« on: November 10, 2012, 10:21:58 pm »
if anyone is interested this is the output from a specially modified version of a cellular automaton;

another run just starting from a random seed:

further on:

and done:

if anyone is interested in this for a game or something I'll share the code but it really isn't cleaned up yet and I would rather clean the code up first before releasing it; it was only a side project for me so I didn't really work to keep the code clean.

Hi all,
    Very interesting Darth. I see ART and landscape generation. ART as copperplated shapes , etc. This i think would be valuable code to share with the community please.

I'd enjoy a look at the code as well.  From way back in the days of Rogue on the Apple computers we had in school, I've been fascinated with random generation of things.  Mazes, dungeons, puzzles, maps, whatever.  I'll admit, I'm curious to see what and how you did what you did to get such a maze to generate itself.  :)

I used the information at the link above to create my random maze generator for Super Megabug.
