Will you allow images on the forum?
(1/1)
Cyperium:
It would be nice to have screenshots of projects in the forum and there are other purposes as well.
Having them in attachements is cumbersome as it doesn't open in a new tab but instead has to be saved and then opened.
Perhaps you could try it for a period of time to see how it works out. I realise that it is a bit heavy on those that have slow connections, but you could limit the size allowed so that it won't be much of a problem even for them.
From my experience on other forums (like sciforums.com) images aren't used too much if the thread doesn't need them.

It's not about inconvenience, it's about limiting offensive material from spammers. In the past we have had spammers get through our registration checks (possibly manually) and post pornography. It's not a fun sight when your favorite programming site is filled offensive rubbish, even if it's just until that stuff gets deleted.

Agreed. I think there is a work-around patch for SMF which makes them a direct link but I'm yet to find & apply it.
