Using QB64 on MAC (Snow Leopard)
(1/1)
JustinRichardsMusic:
According to the download info, you need to install X-CODE for the QB64 compiler to work on MAC. However, X-CODE is only available from the app-store if you have the LION OS. Does any one know if you can get X-CODE on Snow Leopard at all? I'd like to code on the MAC and see the differences/limitations between that and Windows.
Does any one else here use QB64 on a MAC?
Cheers
Justin
TerryRitchie:
I have loaded QB64 onto mine, but I don't use my MAC nearly as much as I thought I would. I never use it for programming. The way I got Xcode into Snow Leopard was via the iOS SDK which included Xcode.
I believe if you go ahead and download, even though it says for Lion, it will install ok. I'm in the developer area now and see that no matter what the SDK version (past versions for developers that want them) they all state "for Lion".
Download and try.
** EDIT
Ok, I see there is a specific version for Snow Leopard. Xcode 3.2.6 and iOS SDK 4.3 dated April 21st, 2011. Log into the developer section, go to page 4 in the downloads for app developers. If you're not a developer simply sign up.
By the way, this is a 4.14GB download.

Thanks, I signed up last night but my apple ID is set to my work email so I couldn't send the verification. I'll try again tonight.
